I'm Sue.
I spent years delivering school readiness programmes in NHS children's centres, before those services were cut. For the last 5 years I've been running Super School Ready for families just like yours.
I've seen first-hand what actually moves the needle before September. This course is me sharing all of it with you.
When my eldest started school I had two sets of worries.
One was about her , bossy, confident, completely different from me.
Would the other children like her?
The other was about me.
Where do you stand in the playground?
Will anyone speak to you?
What if the teacher calls you in?
I stood there on that first day certain I was the only one feeling this way.
I wasn't.
Nobody had it together.
We were all just pretending.
That's when I understood , September isn't just big for your child. It's big for you too.
And that's exactly why this course supports both of you.
I'll help you get there.

Real families. Real Septembers. Real results.
Preparing for school was so informative and helpful.
After the first session we introduced a few of the tips Sue gave and already the tears at the mention of school are now squeals of excitement.
Obviously the first day of school may be different but we are equipped to deal with day one however that flows.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insight with us.
I would recommend this course to every parent.
— Course parent of twin girls, Super School Ready 2024
We attended Sue's Super School Ready course a few months ago and can't believe how valuable it's been. It was interactive and engaging — we got so many tips, tricks and ideas to help our son start school and we've been doing many of the activities together throughout the holidays.
— Freddie's mum, Super School Ready 2023
Sue has been amazing. We've had help with toilet training, sleep advice, and have popped back for help in between whenever needed.
The last course we joined was for getting our little one ready for school , fantastic support for the whole family.
Sue has played a huge part in our parenting journey.

Don’t miss out on these extras, they’re designed to make prep easier and more fun.
When your child has been at school for about a month, things can get... complicated.
The honeymoon period is over.
The exhaustion kicks in.
The meltdowns arrive.
The worries you didn't expect start showing up.
That's exactly when I come back in.
Here's what we cover together:
😴 Better nights sleep and what to do about growing pains
Because exhausted children can't learn, and exhausted parents can't cope
🧠 Creating a homework station and brain breaks that actually work
So after-school time doesn't turn into a battleground
📋 Getting the most from parents evening. I give you the questions to ask so you leave knowing exactly how your child is really doing
💛 14 fun ways to connect before and after school. Small moments that reduce after-school meltdowns and keep you close
🏫 How to liaise with school if you have concerns. What to say, how to say it, so you feel confident, not dismissed
🙋Live Q&A , bring your real questions from the first few weeks
And running through all of it, the reminder that keeps everything in perspective.
When your child's behaviour feels challenging, ask what feeling is driving it.
Respond, don't react. That one shift changes everything.
The families who do best in that first term are the ones who have support not just before school starts, but after.
When the real questions show up. When the meltdowns arrive.
When you're not sure if what you're seeing is normal.
That's what this EXTRA session is for.
"As a worried parent, this course was exactly what we needed.
It covered everything from practical skills to emotional preparation. My child started school feeling prepared and happy."
When my eldest started school and the teacher came to me with concerns , fidgeting at story time, not listening, struggling to follow classroom rules , I felt like I'd failed her.
Like I should have known how to stop this.
Like I should have done something differently.
Nobody told me that a child acting up in class is often a child telling you something with their behaviour.
That the fidgeting and the not listening and the meltdown at the gate is usually anxiety wearing a different coat.
Nobody told me I was actually the most important person in that conversation with the teacher.
That my knowledge of my child what made her tick, her little ways, her triggers , was the most valuable thing in the room.
I didn't know how to be her advocate.
I just felt like I'd let her down. That's why I make this a core part of everything I teach.
You are not waiting to be told what's wrong with your child.
You are the expert on your child. And I'm going to show you how to walk into school knowing that.
Your child comes home and says "no one plays with me."
Your heart drops.
Before you panic, try this.
Just say,
"I hear you. Tell me more."
Those five words open the door without alarm.
They let your child lead.
And often, not always, but often you'll find there's more to the story than the snippet they shared.
If it continues, the best thing you can do is open that communication line with the teacher.
Not in a confrontational way.
Just "I wanted to share something my child mentioned, can we talk?" You're not being difficult.
You're being their advocate. There's a difference.
