How Do You Hunt for More Happiness?

Happiness week 21st -27th January 2024.

In the whirlwind of parenthood, where sleepless nights and endless responsibilities often take centre stage, it's easy for happiness to take a backseat. Yet, as parents, our pursuit of happiness is not just essential for our well-being but also sets the tone for our families.

So, how do we hunt for more happiness amidst the chaos?

We can include play.

I want you to find your sense of adventure this week and use these 3 fun ideas.

1 Pillow Forts & Movie Nights 🍿🎬

Channel your inner child and build epic pillow forts with your children. Once the pillow fort is complete, snuggle up with blankets, fun snacks, and your favourite family film.

Bonus points if little ones help prepare snacks.

2 Laughter Yoga 😂🧘‍♀️

I have recently started this new activity and I can't believe how calm I feel after. Gather in a circle, take deep breaths, and let out your laughter.

Fill the air WITH EVERYONES LAUGHTER.

The power of laughter will uplift your mood, reduce your stress, calm your child and strengthen all bonds.

3 Make a personalized family scrapbooks.

Let's make those memories.

Celebrate cherished moments and express your child's creativity in their unique scrapbook.

A Parent's Perspective on finding happiness.

5 ways

1 Try to be in the Present Moment

One of the most significant challenges parents face is balancing the demands of daily life while cherishing precious moments with their children.

By embracing the present moment, we can find happiness in the simple pleasures, whether it's a heartfelt laugh, a warm hug, or a shared adventure.

Try and let go of perfectionism and savour the beauty of the here and now.

2 Prioritize YOU

As the saying goes, "You can't pour from an empty cup."

Prioritizing YOU is not selfish but essential for YOUR well-being AND YOUR FAMILIES.

It can just be carving out 20 minutes for a hobby, or a quick read of your favourite book, going for a walk-in nature or simply taking a few moments to breathe, (hiding in the toilet is popular with some of my mummies as they need space) investing in yourself allows us to show up as the best version of ourselves for our families.

3 Practise Gratitude

In the midst of busy schedules and endless to-do lists, practising gratitude can transform our perspective.

Take a moment each day to reflect on your life,

whether it's the laughter of your children,

the support of loved ones,

or the beauty of your garden.

Gratitude not only promotes happiness but also strengthens our resilience during challenging times.

Build those connections

Strong relationships form the foundation of happiness in our lives.

Whether it's spending quality time with our children,

connecting with our partners,

or having lunch with our friends, nurturing relationships will enrich your lives and create lasting memories.

Make time for meaningful connections this week and prioritize the people who matter most.

4 Be happy with Imperfection.

As parents, we often strive for perfection, we put lots of pressure on ourselves

If you can embrace imperfection it can lead to greater happiness.

Recognize that parenting is a journey filled with ups and downs, mistakes, and the all-important one -growth.

Celebrate your successes, and little wins, learn from your challenges, and embrace the messy, beautiful reality of raising YOUR amazing children.

I always say every child is amazing for being them.

5 Don't be scared to seek Support where needed.

You have not failed.

Navigating the highs and lows of parenthood requires support.

Whether it's leaning on loved ones, GRANDPARENTS joining parent groups, or seeking professional guidance, don't hesitate to ask for help when needed.

Surround yourself with a supportive community that uplifts you, shares your joys and challenges, and reminds you that you're not alone on this journey.

This is one of my goals for my new parent membership coming soon in 2024.

Very excited :) 😊

This week is dedicated to hunting for happiness but it should be every week, all year.

By embracing the present moment, prioritizing YOU, practising gratitude, nurturing relationships, embracing imperfection, and seeking support, we can create a parent life filled with LESS STRESS AND MORE CALM.

Another one of my goals.
